Past Projects
Freedom & Captivity launched in 2021 as a public humanities initiative to envision abolitionist futures in Maine. That fall an Advisory Board and network of 52 coalition partners held events and exhibitions across the state to explore abolitionist visions, including an online Art on Abolition exhibition, the 12-episode Freedom & Captivity Podcast, and workshops inside Maine’s prisons.
